In addition, “Our everyday bread” is the winner of two prestigious awards in the field of tourism, namely in the category of cultural and tourist attractions in Croatia, the event in 2009 received the award of the magazine Way to Croatia – SIMPLY THE BEST. However, despite the fact that the old customs were simplified and eaten at the same time, with this event the people of Županja tried to revive the beauty of the old customs.The program begins with a traditional Slavonian meal on a straw table, and continues with a demonstration of hand-mowing wheat, tying sheaves, handling sheaves and threshing on old machines such as dres and levator. The event seeks to create partnerships with businessmen and entrepreneurs, provide additional funding to family farms and small businesses, encourage the development of international cooperation with neighbors and the Croatian Heritage Foundation, increase overall tourism and encourage locals to participate in rural tourism. Also, two commendable initiatives should be highlighted: the first seeks to create a unique tourist product called “From the Golden Grain to the Culinary” by connecting heritage and gastronomic offer, and the second wants to build a Harvest Apartment.
