first_imgRosses AC News: A busy weekend for Rosses AC with athletes competing in Carrickfinn in the Rosses AC Spring Series 5K, in Manchester at the UK Sportshall Athletics Finals, in Lifford at the Lifford/Strabane Half Marathon and in Spain in the Madrid Marathon. Pride of place goes to our young athletes competing for Donegal and Ulster at at the UK Sportshall Athletics Finals in Manchester and who came home with four medals. John Boyle, Tully, Dungloe and a pupil at Rosses Community School had a tremendous performance to win the silver medal when finishing second in the U-13 Boys Standing Triple Jump with a mighty leap of 7.91m. About an hour later he was on the winner’s podium again when himself and Denis Mc Ginley, Milford AC finished second in the Paarlauf Relay to get another deserved silver medal.Mia Mc Devitt, Braade and a pupil at Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair won a magnificent Gold medal when her team won the Obstacle Relay. On the team with Mia were Bethany Lecky, Finn Valley AC; Honour Okoroji, LK AC; Connie Doherty, Inishowen AC. On Sunday Ciara Curran, Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair, much to the delight of her PE teacher Ita Gallagher and her team manager Louise Gillespie won a silver medal in the Paarlauf Relay. On the team with Ciara was double gold medal winner Janine Boyle, FV AC. A fine performance by Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair lad Eamonn Ó Gallchóir to finish 4th in the U-13 Boys Shot Putt Finals with a throw of 10.23m with the 3.25kg shot. A top ten finish for Emilly Croke, Roshine NS in the U-13 Shot Putt. Fine performances also from Melissa Mc Gee, Roshine NS and Leah Mc Garvey, Scoil Phádraig, Dobhar and Oran Wallace, Scoil Chróine, Dungloe. In the U-15 Girls fine performances from Saskia Boyle, Jessica Oglesby, Caoimhe Boyle and Orfhlaith Winters.A list of all the Donegal Athletic Board Grand Prix races is not listed on the club facebook page. There is no shortage of races to suit all so take a look and mark your races and next milestones.Come Dine With Me – Calling all Rosses AC parents and senior athletes. Track and Field training recommences for Juveniles on Monday April 13th in Carrickfinn and also in Magheragallon at 6-7pm. Adult training sessions continue on Wednesday evenings at 7pm and Friday evenings at 8pm at the Industrial Estate, lead by Paul McGee. Long run sessions are happening every Sunday morning at 11am.
